Cistercian monks of the Abbey of Jau created this property in the 12th century. In the mid 1970’s the Dauré family bought the estate. They quickly started works of renovation and replantation, with a visionary approach that would make them pioneers of wine tourism and art patronage in the region. Today Château de Jau is safely in the hands of the son, Simon Dauré. His main priorities has been to convert the estate to organic farming, to developp the tourism offer with a summer restaurant, art galery and cottages all surrounded by the vineyards. Today the estate has 100 hectares of vines ideally located in the Agly Valley, at the foothills of the Corbières. We received our Ecocert certification in 2021. Our aim is to produce wines with good balance, our whites are subtle with great aromatic finesse and our reds are delicious, rich and complex.
