The Vinho Verde region is different. It is richer and wants to assert itself as the region producing great white wines in Portugal. Demarcated in 1908, Vinho Verde is a wine region, home to an authentic, genuine, and unique style of wine, mostly white, from Northwest Portugal. This diversity of the vinho Verde wines is the product of indigenous Portuguese grape varieties such as Alvarinho, Avesso or Loureiro, grown from mostly granitic soils, diverse microclimates with variations in rainfalls, temperature, and Atlantic influence, combined with top end winemaking expertise. Vinho Verde wines are a good choice all year round thanks to their diversity and potential for food pairing.
