The viticultural work of my family began with the purchase of Tenuta di Cantagallo. In the early 1990's we decided to dedicate all our efforts to raising the quality and giving a greater visibility to the products of the family estate. Our intent was to bring production to a high level of quality, replanting vineyards with selected, low-yielding clones, with rows properly oriented towards the sun in order to maximize heat and sunlight, and completely renovating the fermenting
and ageing cellars. The goal was to compete on quality markets serving informed customers with wines carrying our estate name on the label.During the 1990's I have also purchased another property, the Tenuta Le Farnete in the Carmignano DOCG production zone. Our farms are located in great historical areas with high grape-growing and wine-making culture, according to the 1716 edict of Cosimo de Medici, the first law in the world created to protect high-quality vine-growing zones. Our personal philosophy of quality production can be summed up in a phrase: "one, and only one, bottle of wine per vine" (no more than a kilogram of grapes per plant). Our work and philosophy of production can be summed in few simple words: “A family who keeps its feet in the past, use its hands to work in the present and its mind to produce quality for the future. Our feet are strongly anchored in the past because we believe in the true meanings of Men, Vine-grower and Olive-grower, setting a high value on autochthonous vines , respecting fully our traditions. Our hands work in the present: because we maintain that a good work in the field is the right base for a quality production. Our mind produces the future because we put our mind towards the continuous evolutions of our society and consumers"
