Our family has been making wine in Appenheim since the 19th century. Tobias took over the estate from his father in 2007 and has been running it together with his wife Corina and his brother Björn since 2015. Our vineyard area (25 ha) is located in the Welzbachtal: a small valley protected from the Rhine by the slopes of the Westerberg - a prehistoric coral reef that formed 40 million years ago. Grown mainly on limestone, our main goal is to produce wines of the highest quality that reflect the terroir and our origin. In 2022, we were honored to join the VDP. We mainly produce Riesling (Grand Cru, Premier Cru single vineyards) - our preferred grape variety to show the potential of the soil - and Chardonnay as well as Pinot Noir (Premier Cru).
