The Henri Poiron et fils family estate is located in the Loire Valley region, between the Sèvre and the Maine, more precisely in Maisdon-Sur-Sèvre. AOC Muscadet only 300km west of Paris and 50 km from the Pacific Ocean.
We produce our wines with the greatest respect for the winemaking tradition, passed down from father to son since the beginning of 1800. Eric Poiron, current independent winemaker, is from the eighth generation. He owns 36 hectares of vines.
90% of our production is presented by dry white wines – Muscadets made from the native grape variety – Melon de Bourgogne.
The rest of the range concerns reds, rosés and the Traditional Method.
Our Muscadets are aged on lees in underground vats.
The lees bring more structure and a slight pearly side to our wines.
We have two main ranges:
· Muscadets sur Lie – classic range
These are dry white wines marked by freshness and minerality with citrus notes.
· Les Crus – high range: Monnières-Saint-Fiacre and Goulaine.
These are wines that are aged for 24 to 36 months on lees. They are distinguished by a beautiful structure, complexity and length in the mouth.
Our wines regularly win medals during national and international competitions such as the International Wine Challenge or the Hachette Wine Guide.
We work the soil with respect for the environment, we are certified High Environmental Value (HVE 3) and are committed to the sustainable development approach.
The entire winemaking process takes place at the estate: from the vine to the bottle.
Our wines reflect the expression of the terroir with a beautiful minerality, the oceanic climate with iodized notes and the passion of the winemaker who shares it with you every time you open the bottle.
We will be delighted to welcome you to the Wine Paris 2024 show.
