Child Company of RHONE VALLEY VINEYARDS
Founded in 1988 with the creation of the appellation which today bears the name of AOP Luberon, La Royère has been owned by the Hugues family for several generations.
The Domaine de La Royère covers some forty hectares under organic farming methods, without the use of weed killers or chemical fertilizers for the cultivation of the vines and olive groves. The reasoned work of the soil favors a permanent natural grassing and the biodiversity of the vineyard.
The estate has continued to evolve over time with, in 1995, the installation of a still to distill its grape marc, and now offers Marcs de Provence, Fines de Muscat and even an Olive Eau-de-Vie.
In 2017, La Royère undertook a process of conversion to organic farming, which will result in obtaining the BIO label by Ecocert in 2020.
On the wine side, we are committed to limiting inputs in order to fully express the typicity of our terroir.
Eager to fully exploit our harvests, we enhance our production with the development of a natural sweet wine of white muscat petit grain.
In 2018, the estate diversifies with the construction of an olive oil mill from the trees planted on the farm around 2005 and thus becomes a true ambassador of the Cretan Diet.
The olive oil of the domain is said to be "virgin", cold extracted and of first pressure.
In order to discover this ancestral activity, a museum dedicated to the history of olive oil will open its doors in 2019. A store and a new tasting area are also being created.
