Cave la Comtadine and Maison Alméras,
Puyméras is located at the border of Vaucluse and the edge of Drôme. Two distinct terroirs, two cultures, and a long history. Its location at the heart of the Comtat Venaissin in Provence for several centuries has given this land its historical uniqueness and fostered its agricultural flourishing. Situated at 400 meters of altitude, Maison Alméras and its vineyards are nestled between valleys and hills, reflecting the distinctive identity of the village.
APPELLATIONS
The terroir of Maison Alméras is the fundamental element of the identity of our wines: Côtes-du-Rhône Villages Puyméras, Côtes-du-Rhône, and Ventoux. The vineyards of Puyméras stretch along the right bank of the Rhône, a few kilometers from Vaison-la-Romaine, facing Mont Ventoux, known as the Giant of Provence. Puyméras, which became a Côtes-du-Rhône Villages Communaux appellation in 2005, is a wine region with terraced hillsides and stony terraces composed of rolled pebbles and angular limestone slabs. The king grape variety is Grenache, which thrives among the lavender, olive trees, and garrigue.
FROM THE VINEYARD TO THE WINERY
Our philosophy is to harness the potential of our terroirs in a traditional way so that our wines retain all their typicity. We work our vines gently and naturally, carefully selecting parcels and grape varieties, harvesting the grapes at optimal maturity, and limiting the use of sulfur. The winemaking process is also carefully controlled, with minimal intervention. In general, our team shares the values of the land: humility, consistency, and respect.
Our goal is to share and promote our appellations, particularly our Côtes-du-Rhône Villages Puyméras. We are convinced that our wines, produced in harmony with nature and certified Organic Agriculture (AB), Vegan, and with no added sulfur, meet the current demands and will appeal to consumers.
Enjoy the tasting (in moderation)!
